Politicians do far more than read policy proposals. Their work is to give language to social conflict, frustration, and hope, gather support, and move institutions. They operate in the broad field of politics itself, including elections, supporter relations, position-building in assemblies, and bargaining with other parties and factions.
AI strongly supports opinion analysis, speech drafting, communication with supporters, and policy comparison, but it does not erase the value of politicians. Deciding whose pain to represent and which issue to push to the front remains human work. The AI risk in politics must therefore be understood as more efficient communication on one side and the continuing weight of representation on the other.
